I've taken a break from trying any digital art and have been working solely with my traditional mediums - my beloved colored pencils, watercolor pencils, pen....
But anyway, for Christmas this year I hand-made all of my cards. I ended up with twelve RL family and friends.... Which isn't as depressing as it should be, because half of my family doesn't even exchange presents. The other half is practically extinct. Go figure.
For J.G. a scantily dressed elven girl - "May you have peace and serentity this holiday season."
For J.P. a Naruto and Inuyasha inspired ninja dog covered in red ribbon - "Puppies, snails, and fluffy fox tails... That's what a ninja is made of!"
For A.M. my version, portrait-style, of Jack Frost - "Cold Hands.... Warm Heart?"
For G.C. a red and purple ladybug on a mushroom.... possibly high - "I hope you have a WILD Christmas!"
For K.B. a design of camo and little hearts in a favorite shade of blue - "Merry Christmas!"
For K.C. a vaguely anime/DBZ-inspired yuppie blue dragon - "May all your wishes come true!"
For O.W. an angel/Christmas spirit in a red and green kimono - "Merry Christmas!"
For K.B. drawing of a musing artist - "May your dreams come to life!"
For K.C. a tri-ponytailed fangirl holding a sign - "Merry X-Mus You Gaiz!"
For O.C. a teddy bear and blankie (on cardstock paper this time) - "Merry Christmas!"
For R.W. a slinky female grim reaper - Don't be a Grinch... Or else!"
For E.B. a group of child carollers and a huge Christmas songbook - "Merry Christmas!"
This is proof that I've actually been doing something while sitting on my butt. ^^" Hehe... Of course, the gifts wouldn't mean as much if they were reproducable, so the original, hard copies were given to the respective giftee (or... whatever)and the artwork was not scanned into the computer. Each peice was customized to correspond to the recipients' respective personalities and interests. All in colored pencil. Some were in watercolor pencil. I put quite a few hours into each one, and they all turned out much better than expected. It nearly killed me; I really wanted to post it on here. Which is why I haven't been on - removing the temptation! In the end I rolled each of them up, scroll style, and tied them with three types of ribbon according to friend affiliation (heh): black music notes on white (marching band folks), wired red winding pattern on cream (family), and plain gauzy yellow (other friends).
======================
However, I have also been drawing non-holiday stuffs, which I will post here once I have the time. There's a big backlog of things I haven't posted from the rest of this year, too. I'm not sure exactly which ones to post first.....
I've been mainly doing a ton of writing, though. That's what I'll be posting first, while my brain takes a holiday vacation!
